Samuel the Prophet

Father Chris Riley is similar to Samuel in many ways including their younger years. Since Christopher Riley was young, he has always believed he was put on earth to help the homeless youth, the youth on the streets. When Samuel was young he got a calling from God, without even realising it himself. Samuel never believed himself to be a leader until God called him, and Father Chris Riley was the same before he answered Jesus’ calling to help the homeless. Both Samuel and Fr Riley never hid from the calling of God, and this strengthened them to become great leaders.

Samuel was called by the people of Israel to give them a king like all of the other nations and then Samuel was instructed by the Lord to appoint Saul as the first king of the Israelites. Chris Riley is like this because he led people off the streets of Australia into a safe and productive lifestyle.
